TRANSFORMERS | YES? NO?

Haven't seen it, probably will wait for the DVD as usual. I'm surprized I didn't see 4000 emails zip around the studio, perhaps I'm just not on that email list.

Was it worth the wait?

Did it live up to the hype it built?

Gene.

Personally I was left dis-satisfied. It just gave everything away, didn't leave mystique, or wanting more.

It just gave it to you, plan out, and there was just a lot of crack jokes, and the typical Micheal Bay shots...

At least the CG was BEAUTIFUL and the compositing was seamless with the live action!

I guess that's why everyone really wanted to see it anyways...

But story and plot...bleh...

I went to see it twice now. The first time around I liked it, but spent most of my time picking out plot holes and watching it with a very discerning eye. (due to the hype of course.) I left satisfied, but the small things I didn't like were in the back of my head, picking at me.

The second time I absoulutely loved it. I just shut off my negatory eye and enjoyed it. The plot was like most first comic movies that are planned to have sequels, simple, but enough to keep you interested if you were paying attention to what was actually going on, rather than picking it apart. However, there were a lot of lame shots that made no sense. Mountain Dew Bot. wtf. Product Placement.

All in all, it's defintely worth a watch, just don't expect it to be more than another comic movie. It's not.. The best way I can sum it up, is.. It's like an transformers episode from the 80's stretched over 2 and a half hours, with a lot more carnage and awesome effects... It was nostalgia overload for geeks like me. I loved the ending too, because it ended exactly like one of the cartoon episodes... and those who know what happened in the next episode probably have a glimpse of what's going to happen in the sequel.

P.s- Whether you like it or not, it's making A LOT of money. :P
